Tutoring Services

The tutoring services program offers adults free, confidential, one-on-one instruction in basic reading and literacy, communication skills for English as a Second Language (ESL) students, and preparation for the HiSET (formerly GED) exam.

Who We Serve

Tutoring is available for students who are over 18 and need help in one subject area. Students must be currently enrolled in other ALC classes or live in the Nashua region (Amherst, Brookline, Greenfield, Greenville, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Mason, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, New Ipswich, Temple or Wilton).

Program Highlights

Tutors and students generally meet 1 – 2 hours per week

Students are required to attend lessons regularly and complete assignments

Registration is ongoing beginning in September
