Tutoring Services

The tutoring services program offers adults free, confidential, one-on-one instruction in basic reading and literacy, communication skills for English as a Second Language (ESL) students, and preparation for the *hiset® exam.

Who We Serve

Tutoring is available for students who are over 18 and need help in one subject area. Students must be currently enrolled in other ALC classes or live in the Nashua region (Amherst, Brookline, Greenfield, Greenville, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Mason, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, New Ipswich, Temple or Wilton).

Program Highlights

Tutors and students generally meet 1 – 2 hours per week

Students are required to attend lessons regularly and complete assignments

Registration is ongoing beginning in September

How to Enroll

Step 1: Please click here to fill out a request form for a tutor. 

Step 2: Don’t forget to schedule a follow-up meeting as the last step of the form. Be sure to click “submit” when complete.

Step 3: You will meet with the Tutoring Services Coordinator to review your goals, finalize registration, and schedule your placement test.
